ipac is a research institute in the field of palliative care.
The improvement of treatment and care of people with incurable and life-threatening disease is our first priority. We support this by promoting and implementing research projects.
We aim to develop new treatment options and new structures of care and critically examine the effectiveness and benefits of well-known methods and structures for improvement in managing pain, breathlessness, anxiety, and other symptoms.
Achieving individual quality of life of each person and his or her family is the focus of our work.
From the early beginning, Dame Cicely Saunders, the founder of St. Christopher’s hospice in London and pioneer in the field of palliative medicine, has been committed to promote research in palliative care. For her, the scientific development of new treatment options has been part of the entity of patient care, teaching and research.
We want to support Cicely Saunders’ endeavour and we view ipac as a possibility to realize this.
“You matter because you are you, and you matter in all the moments of your life.”
Cicely Saunders, 1918-2005
